Knox student Ralph Lundgren writes to Dr. Simonds of the terrible heat in El Paso, Texas (where he was receiving military training), and states, "The drill [here] is vastly different from that at Knox. The officers will not stand for one false move in ranks." Lundgren also inquires whether his academic credits will be awarded to him "the same as if I had continued school."
