Letter from Georgia Finley to her mother

Title

Letter from Georgia Finley to her mother

Description

Georgia Finley writes to her mother to inquire about her father's health and regale her mother with news. She writes about her trials and tribulations regarding speaking French: "I wrote you that I had been given charge of the nurses diets with French maids and enlisted men as help. The French cook some different from us and it means more work for me than plain diets and then they don't understand English and I can't talk French and we don't have an interpreter around all the time and it just means I have to do more supervising." Lastly, she writes, "At present we are not very busy, as most of the boys have recovered sufficiently to return to their places."
